Hi, i have dual citizenship with the KRRC and the Kennekuk Road Runners. They put on a nice ultra at Kennekuk Cove County Park, The Howl At The Moon 8-Hour. I did it last year for the first time. It was really fun. You run a 3.3 mile loop and there are counters that keep track of your laps. There are aid stations all over and people cheering and fun things to keep your mind occupied. It is a short loop, so also a great way to meet people. most ultras spread out and you dont really see anyone after an hour or two. Run as much as you like for as long as you like and you are done! The registration opened yesterday and it is already over 1/3 full. This would be a great first ultra. Guaranteed to finish. KRR always puts on a nice bbq and after party, too.
