Hi . . . (lets get to the point) General Announcements for Fridays Meeting (One crazy list): 1) I ordered a few new tools for us to use and they should be coming in shortly. Dont worry Brendan, I understand how sensitive your hands are to Made in China, tools. The ones I ordered are Made in USA and or Switzerland with a lifetime warranty. The tools I ordered are also free from lead, or any other chemical known to the State of California to cause birth defects or reproductive harm, so were good on chemicals. 2) Still, some of the tools I ordered can harm others. I spoke to Mr. Hunzeker and the tools we have which can potentially injure someone will have to be properly secured when not in use. (*I ordered a needle file set embedded with industrial diamonds over steel blades - very sharp I presume.) On top of being properly secured Mr. Hunzeker mentioned, the more dangerous our equipment becomes we will eventually have to conduct an annual safety training session to minimize injuries the same way Mr. Pang conducts his Chemistry labs. 3) Our new FTC field is stuffed inside of the Joint Purpose Room. We had to disassemble a few shelves in the rooms cabinets to make stuff fit and put things against the wall but it fits. The shelves are leaned against the wall, the flag poles are behind the TV. Mr. Hunzeker mentioned that it wont be a permanent location for them, but well get that figured out this Friday. 4) This Friday, Mr. Hunzeker wont be at our meeting 100% of the time to keep an eye on us because he has to attend a school meeting, so if anyone can ask Mrs. La Russa if she could supervise us, that would be great. 5) Someone mentioned an idea that for the schools festival in May, as a fundraiser we should have robots fight now that we have a field . . . Ummm, our robot is very expensive and its still the only one we have. Im also pretty sure its illegal to substitute a chicken fight with robots and have students gamble on which one will win . . . so lets talk about that candy, Hawaiian shaved ice, and boba idea unless someone has any other suggestions that need to be considered. 6) I still cant find my camera so Maryela, can you please bring your camera over to Fridays meeting and fill in temporarily as publicist? Make sure its charged and have a memory card that is strong enough to take lots of pictures and record footage. 7) Regina, Sara, Mahmood and I are fed up of how unorganized our screws, nuts, and bolts have become in the toolbox. We are too frustrated to keep organizing them again, can someone please bring a pack of small ziploc bags that way they can be sorted properly. I ordered a magnetic bowl to fix this. If we see the toolbox unorganized again, we will find you and make you fix it. If that doesnt solve the problem, well paint them. 8) Galvan fixed an old motor last Friday and it worked flawlessly for the showcase. While hell be repairing the other one, we will need to fix one of the axles because over the weekend, it was bent. Can someone bring a hammer? 9) I know we have three boxes of parts, I only found 1 while I was stuffing everything in the Joint Purpose Room. Does anyone know where the other boxes went?
