Hi my name is Erika Rose and I am a Army war vet living here in Austin (recently moved from Michigan) I used to work for the VA and also I am also a member of Team Rubicon , the disaster relief military response unit. I am doing a internship for Neurobiofeedback therapy (brain science) which has been shown to help soldiers with PTSD and addiction issues. My goal is to open up a non-profit to help veterans in need and I want to be able to use this therapy with them. The doctor I am volunteering for now is offering a huge discount for sessions for war veterans. I dont want to make soldiers pay (the sessions can be very expensive), so I was thinking of maybe doing a fundraiser. A couple thousand dollars would help out a lot until we start getting more sponsors. I am going to be working on a documentary that charts the veterans progress and use this to get sponsors in the future. But right now, I need the funds to really get going. I know RWB does fundraising and events all the time so I was wondering if anyone could help me out with ideas or maybe even co-host a event with me. I could send more details about Neurobiofeedback, etc and also have the doctor send some stuff. Proceeds would go directly towards funds for the soldiers. I wasnt sure who to talk to but figured it wouldnt hurt to post on here for some feedback. Thanks for your time.
