Hi there This is a friendly update on your orders and other good things happening at Millennium Gardens. CHICKENS We are raising approximately 180 free range chickens (they are hard to count as they keep running around) – fed non medicated grains, organic brewed hops, composted veggie and fruits, and all the grit and natural things they can find digging and scratching. They are very happy birds! We have processed 42 of the 180 and are starting to fill our orders. It is our hope to have all chickens processed and orders filled by October the 5th. Those of you who are on stand by for chickens it will be the last batch in October and after we fill the pre orders before we know what extras we have. TURKEYS We have a very happy flock of turkeys running about, eating everything green and red (my tomatoes as they ripen on the vines) so they will indeed be tasty Thanksgiving Turkeys will be ready and orders filled on October 5th and the October 9th Christmas Turkeys for those looking for a smaller we may have them ready on the 5th otherwise they will not be ready until early November PORK We had a very successful year raising our pigs- for those of you who had a chance to visit you know how completely happy and content they were. They free ranged, grazed, rolled around and during the hot lazy days of summer cooled themselves on the bank of the river. They loved the organic brewers mash and the treats from the Riverbank Cafe Now that the sides of Pork have been sold, we are ready to fill the orders of precuts. SAUSAGE - Hot Italian, Oktoberfest, Maple, Apple Cinnamon, Honey Garlic As some of you know we have been sold out of sausage for awhile. The good news - we are ready to make our first fall batch of sausage links and patties-. The not so good news is all sausage will be - as available and until we run out. We have a list of pre orders and they will be filled first. We have had such success with our sausage and the recipes we have put together that we are aiming to make this a staple of ours. We do though want to ensure that the pork we use is as close to organic as possible and must be free ranged. So, for now, we can only make quantities of sausage based on what we have raised until we find a good source free range pork to supplement our needs. GREENS Spinach, Mesclun, Arugula, Tatsoi, and Kale We have just harvested our first cut of fall greens for the Riverbank Cafe! We were very patient through the hot days that saw our greens bolt and fizzle out. We are so excited to see a new crop and we have expanded our growing area for this fall and winter. But... as all things farm it is about when available, how it grows and how good it goes. We have a growing list of folks wanting greens and we feel confident we can fill orders as requested. We hope to put out a picking schedule in late October so folks know when we have them ready. If you are not on our GREENS LIST and would like to be please let us know by September 22. It will be our last planting for the winter so, if you are not on the list we may not be able to accommodate filling new orders throughout the season. BOOK THE DATE OCTOBER 12th - OUR SECOND ANNUAL OCTOBER FALL FEST Come celebrate our growing farm and the fall season. Come out and listen to some great music, hang out with friends, have a brew and a bite to eat if you like. Our sausage will be for sale and other farm goodies we will have on display.
