Hi there everyone! My name is Thomas, TransferWise ambassador for Göteborg and Sweden at large. Ive seen there are a lot of new exchange students in this group and this is mostly directed to them ;) TransferWise is a growing, international money transfer service currently offering the lowest fees for transfers on the market. It differs from banks which usually take up as much as 5% of the amount (thats between 15-20€ on a typical rent payment) to send your money abroad, provides a quicker transfer than banks and is generally easier to use. TransferWise was founded in 2011 by Skypes first ever employee and has received investment from both Peter Thiel (Paypal, Facebook) and Sir Richard Branson of the Virgin Group. Ive only started to reach out to other cities in Sweden but I know that now is the time when incoming students need to pay their first rent/deposit and make other arrangements!
