Hi ya folks! I just want to let you all know that I was on the phone with my/our good friend Kevin Crouse for a while last night. Following some friendly chatting, we got on to the subject of our idea to make this a very special Christmas for Kevins young friend Tyler. Kevin explained this situation to me in a way that I should have, but didnt think of. Because I have seen numerous requests for updates, photos, feedback, etc. from a lot of members that were generous enough to get involved with this mission, I thought that I should share Kevins explanation with you. First of all, I think that Kevin is about the kindest, most generous and thoughtful person that I have ever had the privilege of calling a friend, and I think that that has been quite obvious to all of you as well. It was Kevins heart warming idea to give his new jacket to young Tyler as a surprise Christmas gift, and sign the card from all of us here in Jeff Gordon Loyal Followers. It was our generous idea to add our own cards and various gifts to Kevins gift, to make Tylers Christmas even more special. Kevin, and his wife Tammy, graciously, but silently took on the responsibility of accepting delivery of all of the cards and gifts that we all sent for Tyler, organizing them with the jacket in a big box and preparing the gift for delivery. Kevin was absolutely over whelmed with what we had all done for a special little boy. The gift is now in Tylers parents hands for him to open on Christmas day, and Santas, (our), work has been completed. Unfortunately, because it is supposed to be a surprise gift to Tyler, that was arranged through Santa, Kevin and Tammy will not be there when Tyler does open this gift on Christmas. Therefore they will not be able to give us feedback on Tylers reaction to the gift. Nor will they be able to post pictures of it either ... not just because they will not be there to take the pictures, but it is also illegal to post anything regarding a special needs person on any social media forum, or any media forum for that matter ... that is labelled as exploitation. So, to sum up my little story here ... Kevin is extremely grateful to everyone that took part in this spontaneous little endeavour of ours, but he is extremely sorry that he can not share the final results with us. He is also very sorry that he has not been able to reply to everyones comments and requests for information, but, I am sure that you will all understand the fact that it would have taken him forever to do that. That was quite apparent when reading though the continuous comments that followed all of his posts regarding this situation. Personally, I would like to thank Kevin and Tammy for spearheading this special task, as well as for all of their work involved with following it through to its completion. Hopefully, this will make Tyler one happy young man on Christmas. Id also like to wish Mr. & Mrs Santa Claus a very MERRY CHRISTMAS and all of the best that they could ever hope for in the New Year. You are very special people Kevin & Tammy Crouse, and you have made your way into a lot of peoples hearts this Christmas. I am very proud to be able to call you guys my friend.
