High Tides/Strong Winds forecast (Friday 31 Jan - Sunday 2 Feb) WIEPCG met at 1.30pm today to assess the potential risk of Tidal/Weather impacts for the Stornoway Area over the next few days based on the astronomical HighTides, positive surge data and forecasted Wind speeds/direction. (60-70mph S, SE moving to the West into Sunday) Residents/businesses in the Stornoway area at risk of flooding have been identified and sand bags distributed. The Police will be monitoring the roads situation and the public should be aware of the likelihood of the Braighe being affected around the morning High Tides (Friday 6.53am, Saturday 7.35am, Sunday 8.19am) and subject to possible closure.
