High temperature today reached about 35 -36. Plus it turned out to be very sunny so that there was some melting of the snow and ice presently covering the ground. The ice at the bottom of the fairly deep tire tracks in my driveway has pretty much disappeared and the snow pack was diminished quite a bit more today. But was that wind cold!! Btw: I finally found the wayfaring splitting wedge. Because some more of the snow pack melted away today, when I walked out to split some more firewood, I spotted it lying on the ground about 4 -5 feet away from the shed. There was no indication in the snow a while back as to where it had landed. Glad that I finally found it and also very glad that it went off in that direction and did not strike my legs!
