High winds have kept us off the water recently but we will come - TopicsExpress

High winds have kept us off the water recently but we will come through stretches of less volatility in the near future that allow us to go offshore for big lake trout, steelhead, and chinook salmon. As the seasons change, these winds can be common and will be the trend for days at a time. But when they diminish is when its often the nicest time to be on the water. Sometimes we hit with the weather this time of year. And sometimes we miss. Beyond that, fishing is usually pretty good too. But we need to get offshore to do it right. Still, the schedule is packed for the next three weeks but several dates remain; Sept 26, October 2, 15, 16. If anyone is interested. All of those dates are 7am departures, which gives you a few more hours of sleep compared to our 5am departures from mid-May through the end of August. In the meantime, many recent weather cancels have been pushed out to next season. Next spring primarily. And along with other reservations, Mays calendar in 2015 is already getting filled out quickly. As a lot of you know, we dont catch a lot of big fish in May, but we catch a lot of fish and some big fish. Its one of the statistically best times to salmon fish here. And without exaggerating, some of the best coho salmon fishing you will find anywhere in the world.
