Higher Everyday Monday, January 26, 2015 CARELESS DAMSEL “And Dinah the daughter of Leah, which she bare unto Jacob, went out to see the daughters of the land.” (Genesis 34: 1) Early 2014 on a calm Nigerian university campus, a hysterically happy girl dressed poorly and danced carelessly in her hostel. Unfortunately for her, two of her room mates secretly recorded the scene with their phone camera and leaked it out to the world on internet, bringing shame on her. She allowed that careless moment which the enemy used to bring reproach and rob her of her joy and peace. As a Christian youth, you should know that Satan is very crafty, always taking advantage of your weak points to catch you unawares. Our text today recounts how Dinah, the daughter of righteous Jacob, went to fellowship with the ungodly daughters of the heathen. She was not only defiled but also she brought shame and shattered her family humble lifestyle. You can be like David, who was careful in the midst of unbelievers. He knew that they were ready instruments in the hands of Satan. Avoid any careless attitude the devil can exploit and use against you. Be cautious in your excitement and times of joyful celebration because the times are evil. Challenge: Beware of careless attitudes the devil can use against you.
