Higher Everyday for Monday, January 12, 2015TITLE :THE WORST AHEAD. TEXT:“For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom; and there shall be famines, pestilences and earthquakes, in diverse places.” (Matthew 24:7) Sometime in 2002, a farmer was forewarned by experts of crop devouring insects that could invade the countryside. But he remained carefree and careless until the worst he never believed or expected happened. In a few days, his large farm was attacked and ravaged by pestilence, leading to poor yield that year. Why did this befall him? He failed to heed to the experts’ warning. About His second coming, Jesus enumerated a number of catastrophes that would befall the world, such as persecution of Christian youths, wars, pestilences and diseases, crimes, and earthquakes, among others. Hundreds of thousands of lives perish daily. Following Christ’s warning, all these constitute the beginning of sorrow. These terrifying incidents are already on, globally, and the best precaution against them is to insure your life in Christ. Make Jesus not only your Lord and Saviour but also your Defence today.
