Highlight of the first three days: Coming to the realization that the Lord has the angels (we used to hear about as children) on dispatch, everywhere, looking out for you. Had a very heart warming, loving conversation about wholeness and healing without saying much at all. A plea for recovery. In about the second semester of my freshman year, I hopped on the black women and mental wellness bandwagon, and there was no turning back. I would fly across the ocean, if I had to, to preserve my peace of mind. Never cared about being called a nut. Never cared about acknowledging my own psychological demons that I, and everyone else knew were there. Stopped performing to a standard of act as though you are well even when you know you are not. Even when it failed, I sought help. This time, help sought me. The misunderstandings will happen. The differences are inevitable. The struggle will be indeed, very real. But help is crying out for me. For that, I am grateful. You know the glory, but you dont know my story.
