Week 2: Who You Gonna Call? from the Faith-Tested, God-Approved Series: Our study of Daniel continues with Chapter 2 and the story of Daniel and King Nebuchadnezzars dream. Daniel and his friends (along with all the other wise men in the kingdom) faced execution ordered by the king out of his anger with the failure of his wise men to guess and interpret his disturbing dreams. When the commander of the kings guard arrived to kill Daniel, he handled the situation with wisdom and discernment. He remained calm and collected. He went to the king and requested time to give the king the interpretation he desired. Daniel then went straight to his friends who were also followers of God,and they immediately went to God in prayer (key verses 17 & 18). God provided Daniel with the answer he sought. Daniel went to the king and gave full glory and credit to God, gave the king the interpretation he sought and saved the life of all the wise men in the kingdom. Where do you turn when things get tough? When we experience hard times, we need to grab a group of godly friends and pray together. We need to petition our Father for his intercession and mercy. Daniel and his friends prayed together, the disciples constantly prayed together, and even Jesus Christ himself demonstrated the Lords Prayer using the words our and us.
