Highlights of being out on the weekend, taking a young man in a wheelchair to the Turner Sims on Friday lunchtime for the free Christmas concert by the music department and we were both given star treatment and he loved it so much Im intent on taking him for the Monday lunchtime concerts in the New Year. We listened to everything from Jingles Bells to the Pogues version of Fairy Tale of New York and after the concert ended it just got better and better. While we waited for everyone to leave the brass section stayed on stage and began to play Winter Wonderland and the young man shouted Mike, Mike you asked them to play it, Dolly Parton does this . . . Made my day and a a man sat in front of us turned round and shook my hand for making the young mans day. A final visit to the Blue Room writers group leaving them at Stinkers gas station in Challis Idaho and then lunch with Mole in the Trago lounge where we people watched the afternoon away before heading down to Waitrose for food for Moles picking parlour which was a great musical end to our year. A lazy Sunday with jalepeno sausage sandwiches for breakfast and tea, writing Christmas cards and off on errands for Mole and finding time to drop into the uke shop in West End and pick up a Robert Johnson ukulele book, back for coffee and Moles rents came for tea and Rusty Chicken had a run through for their forthcoming gig when winter finally turns to Spring. Work tomoz a long day but Christmas is just round the corner now and Ratty wont tell Mole what hes bought her for Christmas and she is giving nothing away either and as evening comes Ratty listens to Clara Sanabrass at the Turner Sims and wishes shed pop by and play for free again one day . . . https://youtube/watch?v=MKfnDe2vYWw
