Hill Barn Open Invitation 2014 On Saturday Hill Barn held its annual Open Invitation which has become one of the highlights of our golfing calender. 40 Members and their Guests entered the Better Ball competition, which was blessed with glorious sunshine. As always we had an outstanding prize table with prizes which included Vokey Wedges for the winning pair, Adidas Shoes for the runners up and Titleist pencil bags for 3rd place. There were also an assortment of prizes for the traditional nearest the pin competitions. When everyone had completed their rounds first and second places were obvious, but our Handicap Secretary, Kevin Davey, spent quite a long time working out the count backs because there were so many similar scores. The winners of the day were Gary Ogilvie and his guest Matt Crossley, who came in with a staggering 50 points, in second place were Bosko Spirovski and his guest Jason Wickenden and in 3rd place were Kevin Mooney and Laurie Ing. Id like to thank everyone for entering the competition, the green keeping staff for presenting the course to such a high standard, the pro shop staff, Sarah and the club house staff for keeping us watered and the fantastic ham egg and chips. On a final note Id like to thank Jacob Francis for the incredibly straight line on the 12th! I hope everyone had a good day and look forward to seeing everyone again next year!
