Hill Mansion in Saint Paul Minnesota was built for James J. Hill a Railroad Tycoon in 1891. This massive Richardsonian Romanesque style house is 36,000 sq ft and took 3 years to build and had 400 workers on site. It was the citys largest Mansion. Designed by East Coast Architects, Peabody, Stearns and Furber. Upon his death the estate was donated to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul. It was later acquired by the Minnesota Historical Society and is now a Museum.
