Himachal Pradesh: The Most Competitive State of India Himachal Pradesh is one state which is famous for its profuse natural beauty. It is now the third fastest growing economy of the country. The presence of abundant perennial rivers has enabled this state to sell hydroelectricity to other states such as Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan. Hydroelectric power, tourism and agriculture are the three sources that form the main generators of revenue. Himachal scores high on institutional support, physical and financial factors, communication, supporting factors and supplier sophistication. This hilly Indian state is the least urbanized state with almost 90 percent of the population living in rural areas, but the Shimla district is somewhat urbanized with nearly 25 percent population residing in an urban areas.
