Composer, Singer, Actor, Producer, Director and Editor all rolled in one package. That is what a Filmi all rounder is. And which better song to show case his talents as a composer, singer and actor. The lyrics, the music, the rendition and the acting… Every thing is in sync and perfect entertainment. It’s a treat to see Kishoreda dance to this song written and composed by him and mind you the idea of this song came to him spontaneously and it was written and composed within minutes on the set and then recorded to give us this one of the most entertaining song in Indian Film music. In this movie kishore kumar had to compete on and off screen,on screen he had to compete with the king of comedy Mehmood and off screen he had to compete with the king of classical music Manna Dey and in both places he got 100 on 100. Superb spontaneity of Kishore da.. What an energetic song.... Look at the way he dances on the words” मेरी प्रेम की नैया, बीच भंवर में, गुड गुड गोते खाए झट-पट पार लगा दे, झट-पट पार लगा दे”. His whole body becomes a boat Kishore saheb is BRILLIANT in this film. I think one of the reasons behind Padosan becoming a hit and classic is this song of Kishore saheb... Out and out entertainment… I also enjoyed watching Keshto I think its the first time Ive seen him playing a sober role ...lol I just love the group’s chemistry which has made this song one of the best comedy song ever & among the greatest & best ever comedy film of Kishoreda,the master comedy singer,the best & greatest comedy actor. This song was not part of the original script. It was a dialogue which was converted to a song instantly on the set... It was Kishoredas brainchild, he composed it on the set, it was shot and later recorded in the studio with music! So it was ad-libbed first and recorded later - what an all round Genius !!! Plus, he did not take the credit for composing the song just like he did not take credit for composing few songs from Chalti Ka Naam Gadi as well ! What a gr8 human being !!! There wont be another like him !!! he was the most versatile man... Here’s how it happened. When the recording of Ek Chatur Naar packed up, the gang of Mehmood, Pancham and Kishore Kumar were relaxing in the studio. That was when Kishoreda suggested that they should have a song where Bhola s friends try to convince him that his love will come back. He casually hummed the lines Meri pyaari Bindu , and Pancham elaborated on the tune then and there. That was how another masterpiece in humour was born. When Meri Pyaari Bindu hit the theatres, it had the whole nation laughing their hearts out. This song composed in Baul Kirtan style by Kishoreda proves he could sing anything. He was incredible. And the continuous background sound of the iktara which is the instrument carried by Bauls adds flavour and value to the music. Superb.
