Hinduism and Menstruation: If this subject is creating so much - TopicsExpress

Hinduism and Menstruation: If this subject is creating so much negativity and the miss-treatment of women WHY on earth are Hindu Priests not educating the next generation of Hindus on what the standing is? One minute its tradition, then it’s based on scripture, but the next minute its okay for women to take a pill (an unnatural drug, which Hindu school of medicine, ayurveda is against). One of the greatest blessings in following Hinduism, the Sanatan Dharma, the Eternal Duty is the fact we have the ability to reason. If temples put signs up about menstruation, shouldn’t they put signs up about bleeding in general then? The signs ALWAYS mention menstruation, but why can they not mention bleeding in general? This type of backwards unevolved form of culture is a HUGE embarrassment for Hinduism, especially when later religious revelations move forward from these practices. It is EXACTLY what is driving people my age away – the lack of logical clarity. I am so glad Dr Sen came on and clarified things with real life reasoning. Certain things were done at certain times because of the circumstances THEN. We must look at the issues and real dangers in our society NOW and with logic and reasoning come up with a standing, of course with utmost regard from our religious scriptures, not confused pundits or older family members who say we must do something because ‘‘its says so’’. I will ALWAYS support the rights of women, not because they need my help – they are stronger than we men think, but because I have a Mother, some Sisters and one day maybe even a Wife and a Daughter. I leave you with Bhagwad Gita Chapter 4 Verse 7, Bhagwan Shri Krishna says: yada yada hi dharmasya glanir bhavati bharata abhyutthanam adharmasya tadatmanam srjamy aham Whenever and wherever there is a decline in religious practice, O descendant of Bharata, and a predominant rise of irreligion--at that time I descend Myself. Never shy away from a topic, because you don’t understand it! – life is for learning I’m making a video about narrow minded views in man made Hindu Culture! ;)
