Hiring - Supply Management Specialist - Cold Lake The incumbent is responsible to lead the Category Specialists in all vendor sourcing strategies through well managed procurement and contracting best practices that align with business requirements within a centralized business model. Demonstrate proven leadership abilities in world class sourcing methodologies and be responsible for the development and management of strategic Supplier of Choice (SOC) arrangements in support of Flint business objectives. Apply global vendor sourcing strategies to negotiate and execute material and service supply contracts incorporating strong performance metrics. • Develop strategies for the procurement of materials and services. • Responsible for the receiving, handling, storage and, transfer of all material orders. • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and/or process improvement. • In the interest of developing and maintaining long term agreements, collect and identifies relevant data, and work with cross functional teams to develop the most beneficial supply agreements for the stakeholders. • Involve commodity groups of high dollar values or risk. • Prepare formal RFPs, evaluate and negotiate the final agreements. • Coach and mentor direct reports to provide contracts support as required, including solicitation preparation and evaluation, contract negotiation and closeout of Supplier of Choice (SOC) arrangement. • Coach and mentor the contracts team to forecast, plan and execute processes to ensure that contracts are finalized within the required time frame and deliver the best value for Flint. • Conduct annual performance management for direct reports including training and career planning. • Develop and manage a succession plan for the team. • Ensure proper induction and training of new employees. • Perform spend analysis and strategic sourcing for categories purchased across the organization (including commodities, subcontractors, and services). • Seek alternative low cost global sources of supply. • Ensure agreements are in alignment with Flint business strategies, goals and financial targets. • Develop targets and consolidate suppliers to achieve a higher volume through fewer vendors and leverage volume to negotiate value added agreements. • Manage and oversee compliance to internal and external regulatory processes (CSOX, ISO and ABSA). • Lead conflict resolution between supplier deliverables and business requirements. • Build strategic relationships with suppliers, delivering continuous improvement through Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Supplier Performance Management (SPM). • Lead team meetings to provide assistance in resolving issues, review progress reports and ensure assignment of new tasks. • Attend meetings as required to provide insight to Supply Chain department and provide support to other teams within Flint Energy Services Ltd.    • Provide timely updates to key stakeholders on contract status and identify, review and resolve all issues affecting successful execution. • Develop relationships within the Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure medium and long-term project requirements are clearly defined and client business requirements are understood. • Provide recommendations to the Supply Chain Management (SCM) and other Functional groups with regards to processes, monitoring and system requirements • Collaborate with other functional managers/supervisors/peers to enhance the success of projects and/or other functional department goals/tasks • Liaise with other areas, as and when required, to ensure alignment and use of best practices and contracting strategies • Review and approve team members timesheets and submit to administration. Ensuring that the appropriate overtime approvals have been complete for upcoming overtime, these approvals are to be submitted with the corresponding timesheets • Complete and submit any monthly summaries to the appropriate departments. (eg. Timesheets, P-card summaries, expense reports, etc.) Job Requirements: • Post-secondary certification, diploma or degree, from an accredited college, university or technical school in a relevant discipline • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in an industrial or commercial work environment, and with working knowledge of supply chain specific software, such as SP Materials, JDE, Tool Watch • Safety: Responsible for promoting overall safety awareness within the Facility. • Specific knowledge in Construction, Oil & Gas, and Fabrication industries. • The incumbent should have strong supervisory and leadership skills, as well as strong business acumen • Knowledgeable within contract development including the use of legal terms and conditions; strong ability to interpret complex legal documents • Strong verbal and written communication skills, possesses well-honed negotiation skills, and proven management and delegation ability • Knowledge and ability with value add and/or cost reduction programs • Excellent analytical, time management and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence, build consensus and drive change.
