Hiring! Do you love to work in gardens? We are seeking to add a Lead Gardener to our staff. This person will take a lead role in managing the gardens of high-end residential properties along west Michigans lakeshore. This is a hands-on position that involves physical labor working in gardens, as well as leading a small team of gardeners and working with clients. We are seeking talented gardeners and/or garden maintenance professionals as applicants. Ideal candidates should possess extensive experience and / or education in horticulture / gardening and landscape maintenance, and knowledge of unusual annuals, perennials, and shrubs. Knowledge of proper pruning and container garden installation and maintenance experience will be helpful as well. A proven artistic eye and creativity in gardening are also desired. We are looking for a leader that is self motivated and responsible, with a professional and optimistic attitude. Must have great people skills, a strong work ethic, and be capable of working independently and leading others. Attention to detail and the ability to meet the physical demands of the job are necessary, as well as the ability to operate small power equipment such as backpack blowers, power hedge shears, etc. Having a current Michigan Certified Pesticide Applicators License or the ability to obtain one is necessary. The candidate should enjoy outdoor work in all sorts of weather, have a passion for developing gardens to their maximum potential, and have a desire to help grow a successful business for the benefit of all our associates and clients.
