His Excellency Hon. Moses Akaranga, Governor for Vihiga Republic, while launching the annual MISS TOURISM VIHIGA COUNTY, gave key dates for the competition as follows : In place of sub- county events, preliminary competitions will be held in each ward from 25th August – 29th August 2014. The winners will be given the title “Miss Tourism (Name) Ward” e.g. Miss Tourism Shamakhokho Ward, for the year 2014/2015, and will represent their respective wards in the Vihiga County finals. Twenty-five ward delegates will proceed into camp for further training between 8th September – 19th September 2014, before competing for the “Miss Tourism Vihiga County” title at the grand finale on 20th September 2014. The registration of contestants and talent exhibitors is on-going at the office of the ward administrators in each ward. Contestants will register at a rate of Ksh.50 per entry. Entry fees for the ward competitions will be charged at Ksh.100 per person. Eligible candidates: must be a Kenyan citizen and resident of Vihiga County, either by birth or having stayed in Vihiga County for 10 years or more. Should be between 21-28 years of age. Should be of sound mind, pleasant, intelligent and confident, Must not be married. Must have a level of education having attained C grade and above and Must be proportionate in body size with no physical deformities.
