His Excellency Kaptan Singh Solanki, Honble Governor of Haryana awarded degrees to doctoral and post graduate students at the 3rd Convocation of Manav Rachna International University. Manav Rachna International University (MRIU) held its 3rd Convocation at the MRIU Campus today. Around 2000 students are being awarded degrees over a period of two days (December 13 & 14). More than 500 students—both Doctoral and Post Graduate--were awarded degrees by his Excellency, Hon’ble Governor of Haryana Shri Kaptan Singh Solanki who was the Chief Guest on the occasion. The Convocation began with the ceremonial academic procession led by the Hon’ble Governor, Dr. Prashant Bhalla, President, MREI; Dr. Amit Bhalla, VP, MREI; Dr. N C Wadhwa, VC, MRIU and senior office bearers of the University, Directors and Faculty Members. Chief Patron, MREI, Ms Satya Bhalla declared the convocation open. In his Convocation address, His Excellency Kaptan Singh Solanki recounted the inception of Manav Rachna and the zealous commitment of Founder Chairman Dr. O.P. Bhalla who, the Governor felt, transformed Faridabad from being an industrial town to an educational hub. He also lauded Manav Rachna International University for changing the educational landscape of the State and for its significant contribution in bringing many International and National Laurels, not just for the State of Haryana but also for the Country. Congratulating the students on this momentous occasion, he urged them to work towards the upliftment of the nation. “Once you seek out a purpose in life, nothing is impossible. For, with determination comes dedication, and equipped with discipline and dynamism, you are bound to achieve your desired goals,” the Governor said. It is noteworthy that the Hon’ble Governor has been highly impressed with the research and development focus at the University. This was evident from the motivating and encouraging words that he shared with the students of Manav Rachna when he was going through the vast array of projects developed by them at the recently concluded IITF 2014. Dr. Prashant Bhalla also expressed his deep admiration for the students with the following words of wisdom: “Nelson Mandela very rightly said that education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world. It has always been our endeavor at Manav Rachna to provide our students with the opportunities to evolve as dignified professionals and better human beings. I request you to use your education to the best to serve humanity and come out with flying colours in life.”
