His Holiness the Dalai Lama Congratulates Narendra Modi May 17th 2014 Dharamsala, HP, India, 17 May 2014 - His Holiness the Dalai Lama congratulated Narendra Modi in his partys decisive victory in the national elections. In a letter to the Prime Minister-elect, His Holiness stated that India was the worlds largest democratic nation and the most stable in South Asia with a deep tradition of Ahimsa. He said that he took pride in citing India as a living example of unity in diversity, an ancient country in which all the major worlds religious traditions flourish and from which other countries could learn from.
