His Majesty King Hamad last night said Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharifs visit to the kingdom will add value to the steadily growing friendship and co-operation between the two nations. The agreements and memoranda of understanding signed between the two sides will form the start of a new era in Bahraini-Pakistani relations, he said. This came as he received Mr Sharif at Sakhir Palace in the presence of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier. The King then held a bilateral meeting with Mr Sharif, the Premier, the Crown Prince and a number of Bahraini and Pakistani ministers. He also conferred on Mr Sharif the Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa First Class Medal in recognition of his efforts to boost bilateral relations. His Majesty hosted a dinner banquet in honour of the visiting Pakistani Prime Minister and his delegation.
