His mercies and compassions are new every day . . . and this is one of those days. God can mend a broken heart, but to do so we have to give him all the pieces to work with. How can He fix it and make it whole if some of the parts are being held back? He wants our whole heart. Do you know why? One reason is so He can set us free from the things that are hindering us. He loves us so much that He wants us to be totally and completely free. That’s why Jesus came in the flesh and suffered as He did: bearing our sins and afflictions, so we could be free. He made a way out for us!. The Lord is near to them that are of a broken heart, and save such as have a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all. (Psalm 34:18-19) (NKJV) Now that’s good news! The afflictions will come, but He told us not only would He be with us in them and through them, and He said that He would deliver us out of them all. Sometimes while we are in the midst of difficulties, we discover there are certain things in our own hearts that we need to deal with and work on. These things can be as painful, many times, as the circumstances themselves. But this is an opportunity to grow and see that the Word of God works. Yes, He loves us unconditionally, and that’s why we can go to Him to meet all the needs of our hearts and our lives no matter what! He is a merciful and gracious Father. Give it all to him and trust Him, He won’t fail you. His Word is full of tender healing love. Get into His Word and just let Him love you. Through the Lords mercies we are not consumed, because His compassions fail not. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness (Lamentations 3:22-23).
