Historical evidence/scholastic studies and according Chinese visiting ambassadors during 1 century BC Menander`s Greek spies were hiding in Buddhist Monasteries to spy against the Kingdom (Aryavartha (Bharath varsha) which was weak due to reduced Defense Spending . The Greek General planned to overthrow Bahubhadra`s Empire thru internal army espionage . But a Very strong Mauryan spy network(Chara Chaksus`) of the then Army Commander (Danda Nayak)General Pushyamitra could identify the Greek spies and the Greek General Menander was caught Paraded , later Punished followed with spate of military searches in all Buddhist Monasteries, thousands of Greek spies/soldiers were caught and persecuted. This ongoing tussle and search efforts by the order of Danda Nayaka Pushyamitra was disliked by Buddhists Monks close to the King and they appealed to Bhadrabhahu. They were successful in creating rift between the Army and the Kings loyal pro Buddhist soldiers supported by the Monastery, and wanted to eliminate General Pushymitra sunga.. Pushyamitra succeeded in this coup ..thus establishing the Sunga dynasty. Historians and Researchers agree unanimously that the Buddhist Foreign policy was never a catalyst but proved very dearly to the Nation... Even in china and Cambodia etc.,all Buddhist kings were overthrown due to their lax and lazy lifestyles -heavy cuttings in Defense Spending War lords Huns and Qui sheings(Kushan) established their rule.
