History The journey began in the year 1953 with the inauguration of our own manufacturing unit at Budge Budge, Kolkata. With the thoughtful & generous efforts and contributions of our the then Managing Director and founder of Bareja Pumps Private Limited - Mr. R. R. Bareja toward the remarkable progress of our organization, in the year 1964, Bareja Pumps signed a technical collaboration treaty with the world famous manufacturers of industrial pumps - Ernst Vogel, Austria for manufacturing similar models here in India. Later on Bareja Pump joined hands with many other organizations across the globe and established collaboration treaty with different organizations in Australia, Germany, Italy and Czechoslovakia. In 1966 hi-tech facilities were developed in the Kolkata Factory. Now factory was equipped with hi-tech machineries to produce tailor made pumps especially for Thermal and Steel Industry that can perform in very hi-temperature. Within quite a short span of time, products of our new factory became a lucrative and relatively low cost substitute for imported pumps for these industries and Bareja Pumps became a well-known name in the field of industrial pumps and there was no looking back... Our M. D. Mr. R. R. Bareja was selected as the President of the Indian Pump Manufacturers Association during 1977-79. For his remarkable efforts towards the growth of the organization and as well as contribution for the overall development of Indian Industry, he was selected for the prestigious national award - “Udyog Patra” as the “Self Made Industrialist of the year” in 1982. Finally, with the in-depth functional & technical experience of last 56 years, Bareja Pumps Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata has now become a leading ISO 9000:2008 Certified manufacturer of Industrial Pumps of our country specially known for handling missioncritical development projects. Infrastructure Factory To ensure the quality and reliability of our products, our factory at Budge Budge Trunk Road, spreading over 30,000 Sq. Ft., is equipped with hi-tech facilities and machineries like… A laboratory for Chemical Analysis Dynamic Balancing Machine Hardness Tester, etc. Pattern Shop Our highly qualified team of design engineers, trained in Austria and UK keeps constant touch with the latest developments in pump industries across the globe. Their inputs in research and development produce remarkable results for our own pattern shop. Our latest design covers vertical axially split casing pumps for Defense Department as fuel handling pumps for AIR CRAFT. Recently we have added complete range of ‘Back pull out’ design pumps as per DIN specifications 24255 & 24256. Capabilities Our highly equipped infrastructure is all set & ready to develop & supply special purpose tailor-made pumps as per the requirement of the industry that can handle various substances like slurry, vicious materials, solid & semi-solid materials and even corrosive elements and, obviously, liquid materials. Registrations We are OEM of BAREJA make Pumps & Spares. We are NSIC Registered vide Certificate No. NSIC/KOL/GP/RS/REGN/WB/B-561/06, dated 14-03-2012 valid up to 16-02-2014. We are also SSI unit vide SSI Certificate No, 260/360/61, dated 20-04-1961 permanently valid & current Entrepreneur Memorandum No.19-018-11-00122, dated 15-12-2007. We are also ISO 9001:2008 Registered vide Certificate No. BN6824/6495:0513 dated 04-05-2013 valid up to 03-05-2016. Quality Control We have fully equipped Test bed with all necessary installations. In order to sustain our leading role in the industry, all components that we produce are inspected before assembly to ensure perfect measurement and quality. Even after assembly, all pumps are hydraulically tested to ensure the casting strength. All standard industrial turnkey project pumps are tested for rated head and performance. Extra higher rating pumps are also tested at slow speed with reduced number of stages as laid down in standard specification. Achievements Our organization was successful to prove our reliability when there ware requirement of a huge number of NC Pumps in Metro Railway Projects. And we were chosen as the sole supplier for the pumps of this category. Majority of the C / CV Pumps functional in the area of Calcutta Port Trust are also supplied by Bareja Pumps Pvt. Ltd., Kolkata. As a result of one of our most challenging mission-critical projects, we could successfully develop the heavy-duty Sand & Slurry Pumps for Garden Reach Ship Builders. As on date, we have a monopoly for our Vertical Rubber Lining Pumps as an import substitute in Bokaro Steel Plant. Mission We at Bareja Pumps Pvt.
