History in Bukit Kerayong, Pandamaran. Now, after a gruelling battle against eviction spanning 7 years, residents and shop owners can remain on their land until the new development of that area is complete. Every single person played their part in this, including the Residents Committee, counsels in court John Fam and Freda, who led the fight which culminated in a consent judgment involving both residents, and the property developers. Most importantly, we thank God for this. Selangor state government should take this as a precedent and advocate for a right to housing for all Selangorians, and also encourage that other corporate developers heed this, where rights of people arent infringed on, but developers can also be given space to put in place new affordable housing.
