History lesson! The Clashs rendition of I Fought the Law was reportedly one of the songs played (at deafening levels) by the U.S. Army to coerce Manuel Noriega to surrender during Operation Nifty Package in December 1989/January 1990 (during the invasion of Panama). Fun fact: the song Rock the Casbah was the first song played by Armed Forces Radio during Operation Desert Storm (the third verse of the song also corresponds eerily to the 2011 Libyan Revolution and Civil War).
