Hit and Run Traffic Accident On 1/18/14, at approximately 11:40pm, Officers with the Fountain Police Department were dispatched to the area of S. Hwy 85 and Cattail Marsh Rd., to investigate a report of a man who had been struck by a vehicle while walking. Officers were unable to locate the vehicle involved, however, were able to locate vehicle debris on scene resulting from the accident. The only information provided is that the vehicle is believed to be a truck and should have damage to the passenger side front headlight area. The man injured is 44 years old and was transported to Memorial Hospital with injuries to his left side. His condition is unknown at this time. The Fountain Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in providing any information that may lead to the identity of the individual responsible or any information on the suspect vehicle. The public is reminded to be vigilant and look for for any suspicious behavior in those individuals that have recent damage to their vehicle.
