Hit the road yesterday at around 6:30. Devons final act of defiance was to piss all over the elevator en route to the car, but somehow I managed to avoid the stream. Once they realized it was a long haul all cats (two in Kats car and one in mine) settled down with only occasional vocal protests. I really think it helped that we arranged the carriers and cages so they could see out the car windows and therefore had some awareness of the journey (Katrins idea). We only stopped once for gas and only dealt with rain about 10 miles south of our Hayward destination. New place is still nice and we are working out our furniture placement with measurements before the stuff arrives, which should be today. We stayed with Rob & Sandy Smith rather than sleep on the floor, and Rob got me pleasantly drunk. Now for the unpack, getting cable/Internet (despite trying for a week, nobody could arrange this in time), and my first day of school tomorrow. Oh and then I fly out Saturday for back to back biz trips, leaving Kat to figure it all out until I meet her in Boston for PAX. TL;DR We made it.
