Hitchens was as much as an idol and intellectual hero as Ive ever had. It saddens me to know I will never have the honor to hear his words in person. Although Its been three years since his death, I find myself listening and reading his words for hours and being intrigued as if it was the first time. In the years before his death, Id hoped one day to meet him and inform him the great joy and strength his words had provided. He was more than a man. He was a movement; a voice for those who had not the courage nor the will to tell the world their own personal truths. For those not willing to be ostracized by their fellow man for their beliefs. Courage, strength, unbreakable will and an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, this was Hitch.
