Hitchikers Guide was, without doubt, my favourite television series at the time of its broadcast. Which, according to the minefield of popular myth disinformation and patchy writing that is Wikipedia, was broadcast in the run-up to my eleventh birthday, between 5 January 1981 and 9 February 1981. What I liked, about the series, and certainly not Wikipedia, is the clear and crisp use of correct English, well, in this clip that assurance comes with the notable and deliberate exception of the Philosophers that is. :-) For me today this episode appears particularly perceptive to me as it anticipates the cult of the evil cleric found in particular in Richard Dawkins, Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens, Lawrence Krauss and Daniel Dennet.
