Hiya Fretzies my comeback to Fretz was a somewhat slow one to start, BUT.....WOW!, bit too cheesey...ok WOW, WOW, WOW,...Ha Ha!...ok to get to it, we finished of with a brilliant evenings entertainment in inc, something a little bit different, here we go folks we started the evening with myself vocals and Dave Godwin, on guitar doing a few numbers inc a great song which will get better as we proceed called Brand New Start by Paul Weller, after that I sang a set with another good friend, (well to be honest Fretz is like a club, in so much as we are all friends, most people get on with everybody and share stories experiences and are in many cases happy to share the instruments to fellow Fretzies)..Doug Graver, and inc in our set we did Ziggy which after when I listened to the recording was bloody good, ok self trumpet having been blown lol, I move on...big ty to both guys giving me a chance to sing, really enjoyed the challenge, after these we had that wonderful voice of Frankie Roe, who totally blew us away we an amazing set inc a duet with Connor Stephen Winspear Groves, ty guys, you have no idea just how good that was...(vids, pics will be posted later)...next up we had another superb vocalist, with whom I hope to one day sing Jackson with as, as you know I do a fair impression of J. Cash, and Laura-Lou Blarney, sings a lot like Rosanna Cash..(correct me if name is wrong) and I really want to record us doing this song...anyway as said, Laura sang with Mando Lou and a superb two song set was played, ty guys you are welcome anytime, following this we had something a bit different as I wrote earlier...this was a poet by the name of Jill..kind of took me back because s some of you know I also write poetry mine are somewhat deep, and when we started Fretz we allowed poetry to be a part of it...but tbh the main thing about poems is how they are read, and we had some dire boring poets, so we cancelled that idea, but let me tell you Jill was and excellent peotress if thats a word lol, and had us listening and really enjoying her two energetictly said, poems, ty Jill and you also are welcomed into the fold..and hopefully you can perform another two next week etc, next up we had Connor and Cooperman with their usual casual approach to their music, and we all love these guys, they represent what we are about at Fretz..geat set guys ty, next we had Connors mum Louise Winspear, with Connor on drums Dave Godwin guitar James (from Mischief) bass, singing Zombie ty babes really got into that one, and great to see you more and more getting into your music on stage, next we had my main man Big John Roe, performing two amazing numbers, inc war pigs...with Connor Jack, (incredible guitarist) Cooperman, Lev bass, and at times Frankie, singing with Dad...may one day do that with my Daughter, next a bit of a mix between Rock and Jam, with Lev taking lead guitar, Connor vocals, Jack bass, and James Welles drums, and bloody good it was to, the atmo was electric, next Susie Brown, asked if we had time for her to sing ans yes of course, and another excellent performance from Susie and the guys, (whew wrist getting tired now lol), and the final number was myself with my amazing lady Kym Popplewell, performing J.B. Goode, with the guys backing us,...so there yer go, an amzing evening came to its conclusion, behind the scenes we had, had problems with monitor amp, but Jack rigged up the spare and away we went, massive ty to all artistes, and to a great audience also to Kym who despite being in pain was able to keep everything or as much as possible recorded, will check through that later, and was working her butt off after packing away...I always feel helpless and angry that I cant lift anything yet, so please dont think I am lazy, because as I watch her and Little Dave, lifting stuff...every ounce of me wants to help, and soon will be able to, anyway... till next Wed, take care be safe, and see you guys soon, Ta ta Cowboy x
