Hizb Warns People Against Getting Aadhar Cards Ayaan Shafi Posters attributed to militant outfit Hizb-ul-Mujahideen have termed the introduction of Aadhar card as ‘malicious conspiracy’ and asked people and government authorities to stay away from acquiring them. The posters which appeared in Gulshan Pora area of Tral in south Kashmir’s Pulwom district read: “India is trying to grasp people of Jammu and Kashmir entirely in its trap. Introduction of Aadhar card is only meant to crush freedom struggle.” Warning of dire consequences, it further read: “We appeal people and particularly government authorities to stay away from this ‘malicious conspiracy’ otherwise we will teach them a lesson and they would be responsible for their lives.” “They shouldn’t then yell we weren’t aware,” it read. Aadhaar is a 12 digit individual identification number issued by the Unique Identification Authority of India on behalf of the Government of India. This number will serve as a proof of identity and address, anywhere in India. Aadhaar letter received via India Post and e-Aadhaar downloaded from UIDAI website are equally valid. The posters also asked pro-India workers and village heads to resign before upcoming polls. “If they didn’t resign, action would also be taken against them,” it said.
