Hm, well, the best way to handle an electrical fire/arcing - TopicsExpress

Hm, well, the best way to handle an electrical fire/arcing situation is to leave the power on for at least a half an hour, preferably about forty-five minutes, so that it has time to create maximum injuries and chaos. In the end, WMATA did stop the arcing/smoking by throwing a single switch at the control center to cut power to the track segments in and around the affected area. Why did it take them 45 minutes to do it, when cutting power to the lines ought to be a step-1 response? Because Metro, thats why.
