Hmm- Laura Brown says I need to write three good things, for five days. So Ill start with something only the horse people on this list will understand- three barns that shaped me. 1- Cobleskill. While I credit Caz with the basics, this is where I really got it. Debbie Girard Pernat will always be the woman that made me a rider. And Andrea D VanSteenkiste Kyla Somerville Lomer Ray Doka Dawn Mackenzie will always be my family. 2- Lone Birch. I walked in off the street one day, still in my office clothes, and the next thing I knew I had 20 students and a sanctuary. While life drags us in different directions, it is this little family that I miss the most. While there are too many of you to list, you know who you are. Every student, 4Her, IEA member- know that your lives have touched mine far deeper than I yours. 3- Heritage Stables. After a lifetime of working, teaching, watching, and dreaming, its my turn on the other side of the fence. This is what Ive been working for, and despite being a little rusty and a lot intimidated, Ragen McGowan has laughed off the cobwebs and given me a chance to live my childhood dream.
