Hmmm - the US wants to stop terrorism by proving air cover for terrorists, while continuing to arm and fund them to the tune of several hundred million dollars ... ISIS/ISIL is the product of several years of intentionally arming hardcore, brainwashed Wahabi terrorists to create the very sort of bloodbath we are watching unfold in Syria and Iraq. It is clear that the next step will be to create a Benghazi-style safe haven for these terrorists in northeast Syria. If Syria, Iran, and anyone else interested in regional/global peace want to prevent this from happening, they need to immediately fill that space strategically, tactically, and politically. With the rhetoric regarding ISIS/ISIL at a fevered pitch, to the point where the US is trying to make Al Qaeda itself appear good relative to ISIS/ISIL, Iran and others could easily justify putting the boots on the ground the West seeks to deploy via the same terrorists that ISIS/ISIL rose from. They can put the boots on the ground there faster and more effectively than the US can, and with Syrian Arab Army backing, along with a coordinated media campaign to expose the ISIS/ISIL ratlines leading from NATO-member Turkey into this region, this mercenary army may be crushed.
