Hmmm…I’m really feeling how the MSG puts this scripture: “There’s nothing like the written Word of God for showing you the way to salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. Every part of Scripture is God-breathed & useful one way or another; showing us truth, exposing our rebellion, correcting our mistakes, & training us to live God’s way. Through the Word we are put together & shaped up for the tasks God has for us (2 Timothy 3:16-17 MSG)”. Friend, if it (whatever ‘it’ is) contradicts the infallible Word of God, you must expel ‘it’ from your life. I don’t care how pretty ‘it’ is; how persuasive ‘it’ is; how finely packaged ‘it’ is; how fragrant ‘it’ is; how appealing ‘it’ is to your fives senses; or how charismatic ‘it’ is. I don’t even care how good ‘it’ makes you look, feel, or sound; or if ‘it’ tickles your ear; or if ‘it’ has the approval of the majority around you. If ‘it’ does not agree with the Word of God; if ‘it’ is not aligned with what God has written, spoken, and speaks; if it opposes His plan and purposes for your life, get rid of ‘it’ ASAP. Flee from it. Expel it from your thoughts, your affection, your perspective, your line-of-sight, your vocabulary, and your decision making process. Because ‘it’ has but one ‘assignment’ with three steps: 1. Enchant you. 2. Seduce you. 3. Destroy you. That’s the only reason why ‘it’ was sent to you. "Whoever has an ear to hear, let him hear".
