Hmmm, so Im fishing the other day (I know, hard to believe) and Im at my honey hole which is Hadmet(sp?) Brook located on the side of I-84 East in MA right over the border. So there is a road behind the guardrails that cars/trucks have made over the years, which is what I use. I park and walk about 15 to the spot where I fish. So a MA State Police Ford Explorer comes up right behind my car the other day. There are 2 Troopers in it. They roll down the window and the cop in the passenger side yells to me Are they biting?...I yell back, just got here and proceed over to them to show them some pics...We shoot the breeze for a few minutes...they leave saying good luck. Fast forward to this afternoon. I am fishing away and a MA State Police Explorer goes by me and all but locks them up and slaps it in reverse and I had just put the rod in the car and just got in the car. Trooper comes over and says license and registration so I tried to explain that I was fishing, he interrupts and says again L&R. So I give it to him. He is all agressive and yelling you know this is illegal, you are trespassing on State land and this is a $550 fine. I then just started to tell him about the other police....etc. and how there are no signs posted anywhere...so on and so forth, he wanted nothing of that and said Ill be back in a few minutes...Im like wtf.....there is no way this cop is going to let me off.... he comes back and tells me there has been 3 suicides from people there who were under the guise of fishing (he used air quotes...lol) and then he tells me, I gave you a written warning...get going.......there is not a sign anywhere saying you cannot fish there. Hunters stop in the same spot everyday during their season. Long story short, honey hole is shut off for now.
