Hmmmm- Mike Shanahan? He failed in Washington- but who doesnt when working for Dan Snyder? He had success in Denver- but he had Elway, Tyrell Davis, Rod Smith, and Shannon Sharpe. He is the biggest, most established name out there. and could be the BIG splash this team needs to negate the bad publicity generated by Marrone. The more I think about it- I dont hate this idea, all things considered. Ive been saying all along I want a new guy with head coach experience. None of the assistants whove been mentioned (including Frank Reich) thrill me. There is NO substitute for experience- and Shanahan does have a pretty good pedigree for offensive creativity. I bet he could make CJ Spiller productive again. Shanahan could also make Jay Cutler viable. That would make that possible addition a more attractive one. So- add Shanahan & Cutler, retain Schwartz as DC- I might be able to get excited about 2015. It would be easy to bash Cutler coming here- but lets face it- as of today hes the best QB who MAY become available. Look at the list of Free Agent QBs and try to sell me on one of those guys as being better than Cutler. That will be a hard sell....
