Hmmmm A struggle for me but worth it in Kiev, Ukraine, 2011. The SA Commaner insisted that everyone remain seated as the SA banner was carried into the auditorium followed by the Cadets being Ordained and Commissioned. My grandparents and those of General John Larsson served and suffered under that same flag in Russia 1917-23 and witnessed many of their comrades being taken away by the Red Guard never to be seen again. Many were shipped off to Siberian Gulags and others recovered from the city morgue to be given a proper Promoted to Glory SA Celebration. Remain seated? I struggled to a wobbly stance, a singular tribute to those early day pioneers. Remembering too that I, with 5 others, had been privileged to re-open fire in Leningrad and Moscow twenty years earlier. It was all I could do to refrain from shouting Fire a Volley - my tears held me back!
