Jamaica Gleaner Home : Latest News Supreme Court repairs elevator The Court Management Services is reporting that one of the two elevators at the Supreme Court Building in downtown, Kingston has been fixed. However it did not indicate when the other elevator will return to operation. The move to fix the elevators at the Supreme Court follows public condemnation that the elderly and the disabled were finding it difficult to access services because of the malfunctioning equipment. On Monday, the case of an elderly woman was delayed for over an hour, after she had to be lifted by members of staff and a family member to a third floor court room. The Court Management Services says it will continue to monitor and address the infrastructure needs of the courts to eliminate or minimise any undue inconvenience.
