Hmmmm doesnt it make sense if you are wanting a top quality show dog to go to a breeder who has experience in the show ring and has produced multiple champion show dogs? In any other breed, a person will attend shows, meet breeders of their desired breed, learn about their breed, and in turn purchase a dog from proven show stock and a breeder proven to know what they are talking about when it comes to show dogs. I swear bullies are the only breed everyone thinks they can take just any dog and make them show dogs. And unfortunately with the registries popping up, changing standards and judges picking dogs who do not fit the written standard this will continue to happen more and more. Judges must leave personal preference behind and start picking dogs that match the breed standard that is in place for the breed. Faults and DQs need to be studied and taken into account when dogs are presented. It is also important for breeders to know not every dog is a show dog and not every pup on a litter is show quality. It is ok, and commendable, to place dogs or pups in pet homes that are not of subperb quality. Until American bully fanciers start taking the breed seriously this will never change. Hopefully we can lead the pack to the future of a true Amercan Bully show dog built on integrity, structure, temperment and love of the breed.
