Hmmmmm.... As if I dont post enough on Facebook in the first place, I was recently asked why the pics of my dogs greatly outnumber those of my kids, and why my posts are mainly my art, jewelry, political, religious, or humorous...almost nothing personal. I beg to differ. The pics I share of my kids are few, because I love them and Im very protective of them. I do share certain things about MYSELF. Ive come a long way over the past few years, when I was publicly feuding and arguing with people over things that should have been handled privately. Yeah, I sometimes post the occasional rant, but the whole unrestrained Facebook thing becomes an exhausting game of quid pro quo, where even the slightest perceived insult DEMANDS a scorched-earth response. Thats a complete waste of time, which makes all involved parties look like complete idiots. In the end, I was becoming that guy. You know the one. The one who has some compulsive need to share every little thing on Facebook. The guy who doesnt observe healthy limits and boundaries. The one who doesnt grasp the concept Just because you CAN post something, doesnt mean you SHOULD. The guy who just couldnt let things go..that guy. I didnt like that guy very much. In the end, were all free to post whatever we want, but i believe that in Facebook as in real life, the things a person doesnt say are more important than a lot of the things they share with the world.
