Hmmmmm....mmmm, the horrendous and pitiable condition of our Ejigbo Local government has brought countless posts, and barrage of contradicting & agreeing comments had trailed the posts in this forum, which they are quite impressive. They really show how passionate we are about our LGA. Also, our unceasing efforts on the development of our Local govt really encouraging. Honestly, we all cannot sit down and pretend as if everything is going well, undoubtedly and surprisingly, we youth have successfully immuned ourselves from the truth, but how far can we go by deceiving ourselves on daily basis? For instance, google Third Mainland Bridge Picture youll see the pictures of the bridge at night, how it looks, youll be so confused if you really know the true picture of the bridge, those are the images we sent to the world, how do you want outsiders to believe that truly, things are really getting worse everyday. This is among the reasons why I always find it difficult to agree to this saying A n fi owo osi juwe ile baba wa For any society not to fail there must be leadership, leadership fails; society fails. Its one of our responsibilities to hold leadership accountable. People will say that, that leader does this does that, but they forget that its his/her duty. How on earth will I be praising a baker for baking bread? I can only praise him for the quality of the bread he baked. He baked twenty loafs of tasteless bread when he have the enough capacity and resources to bake hundred loafs of quality bread. We are not suppose to take the leadership so cheap like that. Why doing 9 things wrong and 1 thing right and use one right to cover 9 wrong things? History matters. Records are not kept simply to assist the weakness of memory, but to operate as guides to the future. Try and check the political history of Ejigbo Local govt today, youll see how well we have failed there and how can we be of help. We find it difficult to name some streets on google map not because of any other thing than the failure of our so-called Ejigbo LG. One of its duties as a Local Govt is to name the streets in the areas. There many other things but theres not time for the recapitulation of LG duties here, possibly, a day will come for it. Take it or leave it, our local government as it is today has not germinated enough great leader. In fact, Ejigbo LG is adept in manufacturing and empowering political godfathers, political theatrics, political thugs; whereas Ejigbo LG find herself suffocating on bended knees. The same sun which shines upon your palaces and mansions; hide not its face from the creeks and crannies of the wretched of the land. In choosing leader, charisma is great, but without execution skills, charismatic leaders just end up with unrealized dreams. Great leaders stand apart because of the results they get, and they get results because of what they do. Some of what they do comes under broad headings like develop a compelling vision. Ultimately, I discovered that one of the greatest communication problems we are having in this group is that, we listen to reply not to understand. If we can try and listen to understand first, then reply, we are suppose to be able to provide answers to these questions. Questions: -How far and fast can we go by deceiving ourselves everyday? -What kind of society do we really want? -What kind of leaders do we really need? -How do we want our leaders to represent us? -How can we youth be of help? -Why nothing is working? -Why youth dont look beyond politics? -What roles can we play? - Now, how does the future of our local government look? Thanks. #EjigboMustDevelop
