Hola from Oruro, Bolivia. Weve had a long departure from people, gas stations, grocery stores, internet, and even a shower. In these pictures youll find shots, mostly our beautiful campsites, along our trek from Puno, Peru to here. We rode along Lake Titicaca for a few days then up and over a ridge that took us to 13,300 elevation. Ever seen what quinoa looks like in the fields? Thats it along the lake, the red field of tall grass-looking stuff. One night we got pummeled by nasty hail and that rainbow followed. Luckily we got camp set up just in time to hide under cover. While we were riding, people threw sticks and bottles at us, even soaking Kellys left side with soda. Then one night we met a lovely family of farmers (thats them in the picture with the sweet girls....theres also a 3 month old nameless infant on moms back). In the morning when we were frosted over in the tent, they brought us fresh warm milk straight from the cow. What a treat!!! As you can see, its been beautiful. Its also been our longest stretch without a rest day and greatest distance in a week - 280 miles or 450km. Were tired and excited about a bed and shower.
