First on Oct 7 there was this... Obama downplayed the chances of Ebola spreading within the United States, calling the odds of an epidemic here extremely low. The President touted the Centers for Disease Control and Preventions expertise in fighting infectious diseases, saying, We know what has to be done, and weve got the medical infrastructure to do it. But he complained that other countries have not stepped up as aggressively as they need to, calling the Ebola threat one that becomes more imminent without a global effort to prevent the diseases spread. And, now with the Federal Government sucking wind financially with the present kick the budget can down the road Continuing Resolution expiring Dec 11, and the GOP anxious for the test of the 114th - he lays this request on the lame duck Congress? I mean really he does think We the People are stupid. My lord, he even referenced Don Georges Clueless Clan in his half-hearted, tail between his legs - concession of sorts pondering the plight of the 2/3s of U.S. who dont vote! SMH HHS would get more than $4 billion, including $1.8 billion for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to set up 50 Ebola treatment centers in the U.S. and buy personal protective equipment, monitor travelers from West Africa and to send experts to help in affected countries.
