Holding a high place on the ladder of social injustice is the obscene fact that the members of congress will continue to collect their pay and all of their benefits, including a full and comprehensive health care plan, a perk, during a government shut down. EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND government employees will be left with NO income; some veterans will have no benefits and this is just for starters! Those who have been elected to serve the people are serving only themselves. We need to bombard them with messages of protest against this injustice, demanding leadership by example...they should defund their own salaries and benefits before taking away the livlihoods of people who work hard for a living.
